About Cafe Mado
Cafe Mado is a neighborhood restaurant in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn serving dinner and weekend brunch just steps from the Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and Prospect Park. Inspired by the spirit of classic French hospitality and the energy of New York dining, the restaurant offers a seasonal menu centered around thoughtful sourcing, fresh seafood, handmade pastas, vegetable-forward cooking, and dishes prepared over live fire.
Part of the Redwood Hospitality group — alongside Michelin-starred Oxalis, Place des Fêtes, and Golden Ratio — Cafe Mado brings together the warmth of an all-day café with a refined but approachable dining experience. The wine list focuses on small growers and classic regions across France, Spain, and the Mediterranean, while the cocktail and non-alcoholic programs emphasize seasonality and ingredient-driven flavors.
Whether joining us for brunch after the museum, dinner with friends, or a glass of wine and small plates at the bar, Cafe Mado is designed to feel lively, relaxed, and deeply connected to the neighborhood.
About Marie Louise “Madame Mado” Point
Like so many others, we admire Marie Louise “Madame Mado” Point (of restaurant La Pyramide in Vienne) for her high standards of hospitality and quality, which were excellently maintained for many years after her esteemed husband’s passing.
Located in the space previously home for Oxalis, our cafe is our homage to Madame Mado's legacy and our shared belief that a restaurant is a collective narrative that is continued and enriched by everyone who works within their walls.

Steak Monday
Every Monday evening, Cafe Mado offers a special steak dinner built around prime-quality beef, two seasonal starters, and a wide spread of seasonal sides for $85 per person.
It’s become a favorite for restaurant industry friends, neighborhood regulars, and anyone looking for a slightly more indulgent way to start the week. Reservations are available online, though we always keep ample space available for walk-ins at the bar and throughout the dining room.
